Beautiful Ireland (still a little pissy though)

Inch Strand on the Dingle Peninsula

The rain continued to fall on and off yesterday but we received a welcome break today.  I was able to catch some beautiful pictures of the coast on our way out to the Blasket Island Heritage Center during a moment when the rain wasn't falling.  The Blasket Islands are just off the coast near the Dingle Peninsula and were inhabited by a small group of Irish until 1953.  Many great books were written on the islands along with some notable works of art.

After the Island Center, we made our way back into the city of Dingle for some lunch and shopping.  There is a dolphin named Fungie who has taken up residence in the nearby bay and likes to play with the fisherman.

Last night, we had a nice dinner and saw a show at the Siasma Folk Theatre.  The show included some Irish dancing and all the singing was in Gaelic.  Luckily, our tour director read us the story on the way there so we had an idea what was going on.  It was a lovely evening out and something unique to the country.

Today we drove to Adare to see the thatched roof cottages and then on to Limerick for a free afternoon.  I have been fighting a cold so I am glad for a little down time.  Tomorrow we are off to the Cliffs of Moher and Rathbun Farm to view a herding demonstration.  I am really looking forward to it!

Till next time love!
