Hello All! First of all, let me say how much I miss everyone. I am already having scrapbooking withdrawls and miss dinners with my family. However, I am having an amazing time. I feel like I am finally nearly cured of my ills and can actually enjoy breathing like a normal person again. It's amazing how much we take that for granted!
Well, let's get caught up! I spent one whole day of my London stint on yet another bus tour. All in all it was just ok - I saw Windsor again, Stonehenge, and Oxford. There isn't much to do in Windsor if you aren't going to the castle (which I had done last time I was in the UK.) If you have Stonehenge on your list of must-sees, I recommend you remove it or severely downgrade it. It was a must see for me but it was utterly boring and cold in person. Oxford was nice but not worth the long trip.
The next day was the highlight - Buckingham Palace and the Royal Mews. Both sites were lovely and well worth the walk from my hotel. Unfortunately, I have no pictures of the inside of the palace because they weren't allowed.
I will say that my hotel and neighborhood - Pimlico - were outstanding. The hotel room was small but immaculate and the staff went out of their way to help you. The hotel was within a short walk of several great restaurants like Giraffe and Nando's. I highly recommened this area for anyone traveling to London.
On Wednesday, I had a very nice and quick flight from London to Frankfurt. I met up with my next tour group that night for dinner. The following day we hit the touring hard with a Rhine River Cruise and then on to Colonge for some free time. Today we took the high speed ICE train to Berlin and did a city tour. I am really impressed with Berlin so far and am looking forward to a free day tomorrow to explore. There is a marathon going on so that complicates my sight seeing a bit but I will manage as always.
So glad you are feeling better! And sounds like lots of wonderful adventures! My Copic Coloring 2 starts next week so I have been up to my eyebrows in work BUT it is all ready at my end, Yeah! Missing you too! But so glad for you on your adventure.
