Life On Board the Ship
I wanted to spend one blog post writing about life on board the cruise ship. It was a very different experience than a normal tour - much more free time on board, all meals were provided if you wanted them, no packing up every night, etc. The food was pretty good if you liked the pre-set menu but there was always a cheeseburger as a back up. You could pay extra for a pizza, club sandwich, salad or cheeseburger at any time during the day at the bar areas. Drinks did cost you extra unless you got an unlimited plan for the cruise. We ended napping, playing cards, playing organized trivia or just hanging out and chatting with other travellers most of the time on board. We mainly cruised at night and the sea was pretty calm. However, the last night was pretty rough. It was a medium sized ship which held approximately 1200 people but our cruise only had about 480 on board. The staff were really wonderful and very customer service oriented. There was a pool and hot tub but it was a little too cold to use it. Also, there was some kind of stage entertainment every night around 10 pm if you could make it until then. In general, it was a pleasant experience and I would do it again expect maybe on a bigger boat.
