In case you haven't heard, Greek public unions have been on strike since about midnight on 10/19 through midnight on 10/21. This created a bit of a problem for Bre and I since we were both to fly in on 10/19 and the air traffic controllers count as part of the public unions. I was able to book a new flight to fly in on 10/18 so no problem there other than some extra money out of pocket. Bre on the other hand was somewhat screwed. However, she perserveered like a true Mansfield/Spauldin woman and came to Amsterdam anyway. Luckily, the air traffic controllers decided to strike for only 12 hours and so she should be coming in late tonight in time to make some sight seeing on Thursday.
We have a full plate of sight seeing in Athens tomorrow followed by a traditional Greek dinner tomorrow night. Friday we board the ship to sail to Istanbul and it's a full 7 days of cruising and shore activities. Since internet is insanely expensive on the ship, it may be blog silence for a few days. However, I will try to write a few sections while sailing so I can upload as soon as we are back on land and you can catch up.
A big shout out to my 12 official followers! It makes me smile every time I see a comment! Keep them coming! Love to all and keep praying that all goes as planned!
Yay - glad she's going to make it. Opa!
